GroupM, a filial of WPP, has just released its Ad spend forecast for the UK market and it appears that it should reach for the first time £20BN with the growth being mostly due to increases in Digital Advertising spends.
Based on WPP’s filial, we should see a 6% growth in 2018, compared to the 6.4% growth we saw in 2017. For 2019, the growth should be around 4.8% with Digital Advertising spends accounting for 60%, with pure-play internet showing a 9% growth, from 11% in 2018.
According to GroupM, television advertising investment has remained unchanged flat and should grow by only 1% while Print will keep shrinking by 1.5 points and Radio should see a 7% increase in 2019, versus 10% in 2018.
