YouTube has introduced a new editing feature that allows users to customize the layout of their Shorts when converting long-form clips. This new tool, currently available on iOS devices, empowers creators to enhance the visual appeal and storytelling of their shorts.
The layout editing feature is compatible with all Remix tools, enabling users to experiment with various layouts to match their creative vision. Whether it’s a single-screen focus or a split-screen arrangement, creators have the freedom to tailor the layout to best suit their content.
To utilize the layout editing tool, follow these simple steps:
Navigate to the video you want to turn into a Short.
Tap the “Remix” button.
Select the option “Edit Into A Short”.
Trim the video to select the portion you wish to utilize.
Tap “Layout” to access the layout customization options.
Explore and choose from various layouts, including “Single” for a focused view or “Square” for a zoomed-in perspective. Alternatively, select a split-screen layout that aligns with your content.
Use the pinch and drag tool in the preview section to adjust the layout to your desired specifications.
Once satisfied with the layout, tap “Save”.
Your Short is now ready for uploading.
